Religion

Religion was inspired by the god of this world thousands of years ago. Its beginning is documented in Genesis 4:26b which has been mistranslated for centuries. The correct translation is generally known, but is not taught much. Here is the verse with the correct meaning:

Genesis 4:26b

"…then began men to profane the name of the Lord."

At this point in time, men began calling their idols by the name of the Lord. This activity continues today; it has been normalized so that almost no one notices it.

It is difficult for anyone to go beyond what they have been taught. The world and its institutions have taught us many ungodly things which has caused all of us to stumble and miss the mark. So, no one should fall into self-condemnation because of what is written next.

In the 1970's I noticed that mentioning 'god' or 'truth' in conversation, the discussion immediately changed to one about 'religion'. It was very difficult to stop this from happening. About 10 years ago, I discovered that 'religion' IS 'god' in most people's thinking. Religion, all religion, is an idol. There is no one 'true' religion, they are all false.

Remember this – the God and Father of Jesus Christ is NOT religion and religion is NOT God.

The top priority of any institution, especially religious institutions, is self-preservation. Every other consideration is secondary. In order to survive, a religious institution must become a business, it must generate a revenue stream. In the religious organization, there is no room, no place for the God and Father of Jesus Christ, Truth, or anyone who is manifesting holy spirit. Religion is used to control non-spiritual people. It is used to identify spiritual people and to shut down their functioning.

The religious violence experienced today is simply a religion realizing its full potential. All religions are capable of this kind of extreme vicious activity.

The "church" organizations in existence today are not biblical, they are not part of the 1st century church. Their practice, beliefs and doctrines basically originate from Greek and Roman paganism.

The religious institutions need you much more than you need it. You are one with God through Jesus Christ. Nothing stands between you and God. You have Christ In You, the institution does not. Whether you choose to continue to attend "church" or not is between you and God. God is holy and good, religion is not. You can worship God and stand with Him anywhere.

Preparing For an Uncertain Future

Preparing for an uncertain future has its advantages, it is one way in which we begin to adjust to a changing world. The question is, how well will we and our families endure these changes?

I don't write this to cause discouragement and grief but I write for the sake of endurance and thoughtful planning. Thinking through and preparing for "the worst that can happen" can negate or reduce the tendency to be consumed with fear and worry. If one is to prevail (not just survive), one must be strong enough to endure.

Today, much of what is published in the media and on the Internet has the purpose of provoking a strong emotional reaction. There is hope of a magical "awakening" of the American masses that will somehow stop the destruction of our country and the elimination of our freedoms. I submit to you that this hope is a mirage, a pipe dream; if it were to actually happen, it would do little to restore our country and freedoms. One reason I state this is the national debt; our country and untold generations of our children have been sold into slavery.
The rich rules over the poor, and the borrower is the slave of the lender.
(Proverbs 22:7 ESV)

This truth has not been experienced by the electorate in the manner which would be expected. Individually, our lives seem to continue as they always have. However, there is much discontent and anguish because we cannot gain control of our government. On critical issues the government is unresponsive to the will of the people; instead it is marching in unison towards tyranny. I submit that it is our government which is experiencing this enslavement; regardless of the desire of any individual politician, they have no choice but to ignore the will of the people and to ignore the constitution. They must obey the will of our lenders and those who continue to prop up our economy.

The truth of the matter is this; what used to be America is gone, only a shell remains. The constitution has become irrelevant; it is only a script for the theater and drama that is staged in Washington. The freedoms we continue to enjoy are imperiled. A tyrant is not required to control everyone all the time; a tyrant is only required to have access to any individual and control of any individual at any time. This type of tactic is what we seem to be subjected to, more and more.

So, if this is true, what can any individual do, how should an individual respond? I offer the following suggestions. If nothing else, don't react, but think through your own response.

Mourn and grieve the loss of our country. Have a funeral, put flowers on the grave if needed. Right now there is enough time to do this. Try to release the past and begin to face the future.
Say not, “Why were the former days better than these?”
For it is not from wisdom that you ask this.
Ecclesiastes 7:10 ESV)

Don't make any effort to attempt to reclaim or restore the "glory days" of the past. The world has changed and those days are gone. These efforts will weaken the ability to endure the challenges of the future.

Do some research regarding people of faith in tyrannical countries; here are a couple of books to start with:

If you are worried about your ability to worship and serve God in the manner in which you are accustomed to, please consider the following:

The time span to consider for your planning is multi-generational. Plan for the prevailing endurance of your great-grandchildren. There is an example of this kind of planning in the bible, in Jeremiah 29. We are in similar circumstances. One of the things recorded, which is good guidance for the current challenges is:
But seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you into exile, and pray to the LORD on its behalf, for in its welfare you will find your welfare.
(Jeremiah 29:7 ESV)

Note the lack of guidance for an armed resistance or violence of any kind.
  • Think through the best long-term location for your family to live; Brazil? Argentina? Chile? Where? In the country or in the city?
  • What kind of spouse should your children look for; Chinese? Arab? Latino?
  • What kind of skills and training should your children have?
Today we are free to make some choices that may not be available tomorrow. Today there is time to prepare ourselves, mentally, emotionally and practically for the challenges, fears and shocks that are sure to occur in the near future.
The prudent sees danger and hides himself, but the simple go on and suffer for it.
(Proverbs 22:3 ESV)

Our Hebrew Legacy

Examination of our Hebrew legacy will confront and correct much of the error which has been called "Christianity" for centuries. This examination is not all that difficult. What is difficult is confronting the closely held, ancient traditions, doctrines and practices of institutionalized error.

Let's examine Ephesians 4 [ESV], starting in verse 4:
There is one body and one spirit – just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call-

The "ONE body" in this context refers to one body of Hebrews and Gentiles. See Ephesians 2:11-22. Galatians 3:28 offers more details; in this one body, there is no race, gender, or social status. This means that in Christ, there is no spiritual significance to race, gender or social status.
There is just ONE Body. There are no divisions, no denominations, no distinctions between people in different geographic locations; there is ONE Body.
If, physically and culturally, you state that you are a Methodist male from the U.K., you may be accurately stating the facts. However, in Christ, there is no spiritual significance to these facts.

ONE spirit – there is but one gift of holy spirit given to each and every believer. This was made completely plain in Acts chapters 10 and 11. There is no difference between the gift of holy spirit that you received when you were born from above and the gift of holy spirit which was given to the Apostle Paul, Peter, or any other believer.

The "ONE hope" is really amazing compared to much of the systematic error which has been taught concerning the "Christian Hope". Some teach that the Christian Hope is different from the Hope of the Hebrews. This teaching is nothing more than systematic theological error. The Apostle Paul reveled more details of the "One Hope", but he did  not teach that there was another hope. For both the Hebrew and Gentile, there is ONE Hope! This is important, as will be seen. Ephesians 4:6:
one Lord, one faith, one baptism

Now, note carefully that Paul states, by revelation, that there is ONE Lord. This refers to Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Elsewhere, Paul notes that others promote another jesus. There are many people and institutions who would usurp the Lordship of Jesus Christ and attempt to replace his authority in your life.

ONE Faith; people talk a lot about the Methodist faith, the Baptist faith, the Jewish faith and etc. We have ONE Faith, between the Christian Hebrews and Gentiles. Jesus Christ is the author and finisher of faith. Spiritually speaking, there is no other faith. (Please refer to the previous posting "…By Believing…"). It is because of the ONE spirit and ONE Lord that we have access to the ONE Faith.
In these things, ONE spirit, ONE Hope, ONE Lord, ONE Faith we are tied into our Hebrew roots, our Hebrew Legacy. Read Romans 4. Abraham looked forward to the fulfillment of God's promise after the resurrection. The resurrection would be made possible because of the accomplishments of the messiah. Abraham was enabled to have this ONE faith and have this ONE hope because of the ONE spirit which was upon him.

ONE baptism – there is only ONE baptism for both the Hebrew and Gentile as instituted and announced by Jesus Christ in Acts 1. This is a spiritual baptism which has absolutely nothing to do with water! With just this one announcement, the reader can understand that most all of the doctrines about baptism instituted since the 1st century are pure bunk.
Ephesians 4:6
one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.

ONE God – this is a significant part of our Hebrew Legacy. There is but ONE GOD! There is no triune, 3-in-one monstrosity. The trinity doctrine is an ancient pagan one. However the truth of ONE GOD predates all other doctrines. The deception and error of the trinity was incorporated into doctrine and practice after the Apostles had died. The correct belief and doctrine of the Apostles and the believers in the first century was ONE GOD. The correct belief and doctrine of Abraham was ONE GOD.

This is some of our Hebrew Legacy.

The “Primitive” Church

Among other things, the term "primitive" refers to "belonging to the first or beginning; original" or it can refer to "…an early state, especially in being crude or uncivilized." The term "Primitive Church" is a scholarly term which generally refers to the Christian church from the day of Pentecost in the first century, until the first council of Nicaea in the fourth century.
Although "Primitive Church" is not regarded as a pejorative term, almost no one really promotes a return to the practices of this earlier age. In fact, Wikipedia notes that:

Early Christians demonstrated a wide range of beliefs and practices, many of which were later rejected as heretical

It could be said that these practices are still rejected as heretical.

In the same article, it is estimated that the numbers of Christians grew by approximately 40% per decade during the 1st and 2nd centuries. What religious organization can boast such a phenomenal rate of growth today?

Conversations, studies and projects regarding replicating the success of the early church seem to center on the practices of the early church. Attempts have been made to incorporate some of these practices into the institutional setting, with erratic results.

Although a full-fledged biblical study is beyond the scope of this short essay, a study of the first persecution of the church, by Saul of Tarsus brings to light several useful truths.

The first century church was organized, but its organizational structure was very difficult to comprehend and access by the governmental and religious authorities. Their efforts to obstruct the growth and spread of the church had the opposite effect. For all practical purposes, from the point of view of the world, the organizational structure of this new sect was non-existent and ephemeral. To this day, the internal workings and organizational structure of the early church remain elusive and invisible.

Regardless of the response to the truths just listed, one truth remains. The results of the early church were accomplished without the "benefit" of any modern denominational structure or hierarchical leadership system. The word of God prevailed in a pagan society without the initiation, sanctioning, promotion or resources of any denomination (note that the new testament bible did not exist either). This one truth automatically eliminates from serious consideration the practical application of anything developed and practiced by the early church. Thus the Godly, powerful results are thrust away by the scholar, deacon, bishop, paster, corporate officers, board members and others within the current religious realm.

Ultimately, the term "Primitive Church" actually is a pejorative term. It signifies a rejection of all that was accomplished by God and the believers of the first century. That church was anything but primitive. It was the most advanced, effective and influential church that has ever existed. It's inner workings and accomplishments have yet to be discovered and repeated.

Why not remove the corporate religious blinders? Reread "The Acts of the Holy Spirit" without your religious glasses on. What could be accomplished if the organization and "leadership approval" were no longer a consideration?
